These characters are from the deliciously creepy game Little Nightmares. I made this set of Six, a Nome and a key for a friend. At 3 inches high, they are almost to scale.
Happy Birthday Kendall !!

Special thank you to Jerry White and his amazing crew that put together the first ever Vidlings and Tapeheads Film Festival! Thank you to the artists and musicians who shared their talents and entertained all us film creeps. Raising a Nuisance was shown in the "Made in Michigan" selection, as well as a few of my friends's films, such as Giuliana Cascardo's film Evolve, Discover, and Harrison Schaeffer's Monk of the Milkweed which won the Best of Fest! Award. I'm so proud of him!
Festive Lollipop decorations for the allergen-free candy shop Oh My Lolli! in downtown Brighton, MI. They have really a great store across from the park, safe for all children. Made from Sculpy over a wire frame and coated with weather-resistant lacquer, they are not nearly as delicious as what you'll find inside.
Happy 4th of July, everybody! After being accepted into three international film festivals, one local and two abroad, 'Raising a Nuisance' continues to make people laugh all over the world. It has been now been accepted into Movievalley Bazzacinema in Bologna, Italy and also into Cortoons Film Festival of Valencia, Spain.
Adding subtitles in three languages was well worth the effort. Now it can be shared with many more people! I am just pleased as Punch that they are enjoying it so much. *Update: Raising a Nuisance has also been accepted in to Scotland’s Leading Creative Industries Festival XpoNorth, in Inverness, Scotland, and we also received a commendation "For its quirky style and dark sense of humour" at the Animex Festival in Middlesbrough, UK Prize "Cinema is female": LS Quigley for Raising a Nuisance I was invited to attend the Movievalley Bazzacinema in a small town outside of Bologna, Italy. It was a beautiful villa surrounded by vineyards, complete with a castle, courtyard and church atop the highest point. I walked there in the mornings before festivities started and was welcome to play piano. The afternoon screenings were a delight! Everyone involved was like one big Italian family. Fate permitting, I'd love to see them all again. They awarded me with the title of "Movie is Female" A little roughly translated, but I am nevertheless humbled. *Photo of the framed-watercolor award to be added. I also spent time riding the rails and took a day train over to Venezia, or as we might call it Venice. Waterways compete with walkways, a bridge for every corner in a city choked with narrow, towering allies. In this labyrinth I found the oldest, tiniest candy shop, complete with a white-haired, bespectacled keeper. Lollypops, bonbons, bars of chocolate and jars of everything else were stacked to the ceiling like the scrolls and potions of a magi's study.
A wonderful world to have an adventure in. Hopefully next time someone will share it with me!! Here he is! Fitz, a main character of Jason McCullough's animated show Scalawags! Complete with a custom Playing Possum tag and standing at about 3 feet tall, he is quite the cuddly character. His eyes and mouth will be applied pending Jason's approval. If Fitz needs a change of expression, the latex applications aren't easily removable. Unless he's checked this blog, Jason still doesn't know. I hope to surprise him soon!
Just found out this week that our film Raising a Nuisance was accepted into its seventh and eighth film festival! On top of Ottawa's OAIF and Ireland's FIFES, it was just placed for the local Detroit International Festival of Animation. We are so excited to be included in such large events. Special thanks to Jason for keeping up with submissions and making this laurel title card. Maybe we can add a few more before it's shelved!
Another giant plushie is on its way!
The Scalawag merchandise is a growing collection, since Ohno messaged me the other day, saying she felt lonely. This is the paper pattern for Fitz's head, and the pattern from Ohno's body will be reused. I still have to cut the pattern off from the sculpture underneath and justify it for symmetry, but I already have the fabric. SHHHH! Don't tell Jason, it will be a surprise. Dream Catcher earrings for a certain someone special. No occasion, just felt she would like them. They are a roughly the size of a half dollar coin and weigh about 6g.
I'd like to make more but can't wear them myself. Any takers? |
