Prize "Cinema is female": LS Quigley for Raising a Nuisance I was invited to attend the Movievalley Bazzacinema in a small town outside of Bologna, Italy. It was a beautiful villa surrounded by vineyards, complete with a castle, courtyard and church atop the highest point. I walked there in the mornings before festivities started and was welcome to play piano. The afternoon screenings were a delight! Everyone involved was like one big Italian family. Fate permitting, I'd love to see them all again. They awarded me with the title of "Movie is Female" A little roughly translated, but I am nevertheless humbled. *Photo of the framed-watercolor award to be added. I also spent time riding the rails and took a day train over to Venezia, or as we might call it Venice. Waterways compete with walkways, a bridge for every corner in a city choked with narrow, towering allies. In this labyrinth I found the oldest, tiniest candy shop, complete with a white-haired, bespectacled keeper. Lollypops, bonbons, bars of chocolate and jars of everything else were stacked to the ceiling like the scrolls and potions of a magi's study.
A wonderful world to have an adventure in. Hopefully next time someone will share it with me!!
