Hey guys!
A good friend of mine Jason McCullough has been working on a stop motion animation project called Scallywags, to which he has done a fair bit of product marketing. This includes shirts, mugs, buttons, stickers, and finally an Ohno plushie! A few months ago, I showed him how to make a paper pattern, which is useful for all sorts of things. I'll have to document that process sometime... Jason ran out of time to sew the final pattern, so I took over in late December. Today I created the coat using the draping method, totaling about 4-5 hours including time spent on the cuffs, collar and hemming. Now I just have to do her cute little face and hat.

It has come time to turn another leaf. So this year I've decided to start a blog. My first online social anything. (I have an email address, does that count?) The reason is that I do a lot of work that doesn't fit into most traditional categories, and I'd like to start sharing it before it is either sold, adopted or tucked away on a shelf somewhere. The other reason is that like most artists I am simply terrible about documenting before jumping on to the next project. So a few new friends and I kicked off this January One by making piñatas!! Mine was of the grand planet Saturn, which looks great against the OIAF spaceman poster. We made a pact to fill and break them for next New Year's Eve.
Every proper party needs a piñata. |
